FUZED

Increased workflow efficiencies and automation with printIQ

Profile

Fuzed has been in the print business for nearly 40 years in New Zealand. What once started as typesetting in a garage behind a family home has transformed into an award-winning print agency that offers all aspects of the print business in one location: digital, wide format, offset, 3D digital overglossing, and lenticular printing.
From inspiration to implementation, the team at Fuzed is known for helping clients get the results they want: “We use the latest and most amazing technology, and it can do just about anything,” says Matt Mills, Director at Fuzed. “Our clients typically come to us with a concept, and we figure out how to make it work. That’s part of the challenge, it’s what we love to do, and it keeps us on our toes!”

The Challenge

With such a broad offering of print capabilities – and with the shorter runs and faster turnarounds of digital print – efficiency is a top priority for Fuzed, as it is with most printers today. So, they needed a Management Information System (MIS) that could keep up with their business.

The Solution

Fuzed turned to printIQ to overhaul their current MIS. Because printIQ specializes in advanced automated software built for the printing industry, Fuzed found that their cutting-edge approach was the perfect fit for their organization.

“What really drew us to printIQ is that they look at the world slightly differently. They don’t necessarily think that the way it’s always been done is the correct way or should even be the ‘normal’ way. And that relates exactly to the way we operate. They welcome our input,” Mills added. “Sometimes we make suggestions, and they tell us that’s a good point, and they’ll roll it out in their next release. That’s really beneficial to us – they are working with us; they’re for us.”

The Business Impact

PrintIQ is a web-based MIS that supports everything from pricing to web-to-print, allowing Fuzed to gain efficiencies throughout their organization. With printIQ, the Fuzed team can log in anywhere in the world, track jobs online, and manage the entire project from estimating through production into invoicing.
“If I’m at the Dscoop conference, I can be doing quotes in the middle of the night, local New Zealand time. I can just log a ticket for any issues I find, and I know printIQ has received it and will fix it or tell me what to do. If I had to wait until 9 or 10 in the morning just to log that issue, it would take that much longer to be fixed,” says Mills. “I don’t know too many people in our industry who don’t have clients requesting quotes in the middle of the night because we’re so busy during the day. This efficiency saves my time and theirs and keeps costs down for everyone.” That kind of efficiency allows Fuzed to focus on what they do best: printing award-winning projects like this premiere ticket for the hit film, Guardians of the Galaxy, the Digital Process Winner in the New Zealand Pride In Print Awards.
Because printIQ’s solutions are customized to meet the varying needs of clients, Fuzed’s MIS is flexible – tracking and quoting projects can be done in different ways to accommodate your organization. And, with printIQ’s team there to help and guide clients through the solutions, Mills and his team are left confident that they know what to do. Because, “In the end, it comes down to relationships; Relationships are how business is done,” and the partnership between printIQ and Fuzed is a great one.
As the company grows and we develop new and exciting offerings for our customers. It is great that printIQ has the ability to be flexible enough to create quoting processes in an easy non time consuming way.
