Challenge

Colorado’s CPCneutek’s mission is to build a strong, enduring, mutually beneficial business relationship that responds to clients’ needs. With this vision comes the need to consistently print better, faster, and to pay closer attention to their client’s needs. However, CPCneutek faced a new challenge with the acquisition of a new company that specialized in Wide Format and Flexo, along with its 2 internal systems when they wanted to bring everything into their existing MIS system they have been using for over 25 years. The problem: they spent $25,000 upfront to have two locations, yet they were required to VPN into their original site with their current system.
Mandy Hansen, Operations Manager of CPCneutek said, “Once [CPC] started working with this amended system, we quickly learned that due to the number of workarounds that we needed to do to make it fit our needs, it wasn’t going to suffice”. CPC began working with their MIS company to address the problems and help refine the software to more effectively suit the label market. But, after receiving a large quote for their MIS to amend the software, CPC decided to investigate other available options.

Solution

Thanks to a Print Conference, CPC’s Mandy Hansen crossed paths with printIQ’s Sales Development Manager, Linda Pollard.
Before this, CPC had demo-ed multiple different sites only to find that many did not deal with all the areas that CPC specialized in. From the ability to encompass all areas of the business (offset, folding cartons, direct mail, digital, digital flexo, flexo, and wide format printing), to the pricing of both setup costs and annual fees, and ease of use, CPC had a list of requirements in hand when demoing potential Management Information Systems (MIS).
After printIQ demoed their MIS at the conference, CPC was blown away to “see the system gave us 95% of what we were looking for and some unexpected additional bonuses. Our group walked away from that conference having printIQ as our number 1 choice,” said Hansen. Shortly thereafter, Pollard worked closely with the CPC team to get the modules they needed, resulting in one of the more comprehensive printIQ builds undertaken.

Business Impact

As a result of this partnership, CPCneutek has experienced many productivity savings with printIQ. From time savings during estimating, job entry, and billing, to fewer questions requiring clarification from the production staff, CPC’s move to printIQ was mutually beneficial.
In addition, after working with the printIQ MIS for over a year, CPCneutek has built a relationship with the printIQ team. By taking the time to create individualized training plans that were tailored to each person’s needs, printIQ set the CPC team up for success and allowed them to understand the new system completely. Hansen added, “PrintIQ really did treat us as actual partners to make the flexo components more than we could have asked for. I honestly feel like they value my input about changes in the system or different aspects that I need. They looked at the big picture of my suggestions and have added many of the things I had requested. They treated the suggestions as a win/win for both CPC and printIQ.”
